NRG GLOBAL INSTRUMENTS MAKE Tubular Level Gauge is used for visual liquid level indication and is the most commonly used instrument in the process industry. It is a simple and reliable device for level reading in atmospheric or pressurized tank applications. It is mounted parallel, along the side of the tank, so as to form a closed loop. As the process level fluctuates, the level in the transparent glass tube changes accordingly and gives local level indication. DLS works on a simple buoyancy principle and is well suited for simple or complex applications, such as forming surging liquids or agitated fluids, and usually costs less than other types of level switches. CONSTRUCTION & OPERATION Operation is based on simple buoyancy principle. As the liquid level rises and progressively immerses the displacer elements, the effective weight suspended on the spring reduces and the consequent length of the spring change is used to provide magnet movement and operate the switch. The spring movement causes the magnetic sleeve to attract a pivoted magnet actuating a switch mechanism located outside the barrier tube. Built-in limit stops, prevent over stroking under level surge conditions. NRG GLOBAL INSTRUMENTS MAKE Electromagnetic Flow Meters, simply known as mag flow meter is a volumetric flow meter which is ideally used for waste water applications and other applications that experience low pressure drop and with appropriate liquid conductivity required.The device doesn’t have any moving parts and cannot work with hydrocarbons and distilled water. Mag flow meters are also easy to maintain.Electromagnetic Flow Meters Principle of Magnetic Flow Meter Based on Faraday’s LawMagnetic flow meters works based on Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction. According to this principle, when a conductive medium passes through a magnetic field B, a voltage E is generated which is proportional to the velocity v of the medium, the density of the magnetic field and the length of the conductor. [E is the voltage generated in a conductor, V is the velocity of the conductor, B is the magnetic field strength and L is the length of the conductor].It is very important that the liquid flow that is to be measured using the magnetic flow meter must be electrically conductive. The Faraday’s Law indicates that the signal voltage (E) is dependent on the average liquid velocity (V), the length of the conductor (D) and the magnetic field strength (B). The magnetic field will thus be established in the cross-section of the tubeBasically when the conductive liquid flows through the magnetic field, voltage is induced. To measure this generated voltage (which is proportional to the velocity of the flowing liquid), two stainless steel electrodes are used which are mounted opposite each other.The two electrodes which are placed inside the flow meter are then connected to an advanced electronic circuit that has the ability to process the signal. The processed signal is fed into the microprocessor that calculates the volumetric flow of the liquid.Electromagnetic Flow Meters Formula:Electromagnetic flow meters use Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction for making a flow measurement. Faraday’s law states that, whenever a conductor of length ‘l’ moves with a velocity ‘v’ perpendicular to a magnetic field ‘B’, an emf ‘e’ is induced in a mutually perpendicular direction which is given byThus the volume flow rate is proportional to the induced emf. NRG GLOBAL INSTRUMENTS MAKE Glass Tube Variable Area Flow Meters (Rotameters) are intended for general in line and ByPass metering applications (i.e. for Gas & Liquid) where operating conditions are with the limitations of Glass metering tubes. These are the principle of Variable Area. The float moves freely up and down tapered borosilicate glass with fluid flow from bottom to top. The float takes up a position where buoyancy forces and the float weight are balanced in proportion to flow rate. The Vertical position of the float as indicated by scale is the measure of the instantaneous flow rate. 2. Principal of Operation When fluid or gas flows through a taper tube containing a float, a pressure difference of P1 and P2 is created between upper and lower side of the float. The float moves upwards by a force obtained by multiplying the pressure differential by the maximum cross-sectional area of the float. Due to taper tube, as the float moves upwards, the fluid passing area increases as a result of which the differential pressure decreases. Upward movement of float stops when the dead load is dynamically balanced by the differential pressure.
