NRG GLOBAL MAKE Displacer type level switches offers the industrial user a wide choice of alarm and control configuration. DLS works on a simple buoyancy principle and is well suited for simple or complex applications, such as forming surging liquids or agitated fluids, and usually costs less than other types of level switches. CONSTRUCTION & OPERATION Operation is based on simple buoyancy principle. As the liquid level rises and progressively immerses the displacer elements, the effective weight suspended on the spring reduces and the consequent length of the spring change is used to provide magnet movement and operate the switch. The spring movement causes the magnetic sleeve to attract a pivoted magnet actuating a switch mechanism located outside the barrier tube. Built-in limit stops, prevent over stroking under level surge conditions. Basket strainer elements can be offered in single cylinder, double cylinder, multi cylinder & pleated design depending upon requirement of application. They are constructed of filter housing, filter element supported with perforated cage, positive sealing arrangement to avoid any bypass & choice of end connections. Operation Unfiltered liquid enters the basket housing and passes down through them. Solids are retained inside/ outside of basket depending upon design and are removed when the unit is serviced.They are available with insitu backwashing arrangement, wherein removal of baskets for cleaning is not required often. Basket filters & strainers are normally supplied with spring arrangement at the top of filter element. This will ensure any type of bypassing & confirm the position of basket, even in case of reverse flow. Fluid bypass around the basket is prevented by an optional O'-Ring seal between the basket rim and the housing inside diameter.

NRG GLOBAL MAKE Basket strainers are installed to protect equipment from damage caused by unwanted debris that may be in the pipeline. The unwanted debris could be dirt or other foreign particles that make their way into the process fluid. Typically, basket strainers are installed in horizontal pipelines and in situations where high flow capacity is required. These strainers are installed upstream of equipment like pumps, control valves, and traps, keeping potentially corrosive or damaging debris from making its way down the line. They can be installed alone or in a series to increase filtration. They may come with a single chamber (simplex strainers) or multiple chambers (multiplex strainers). Understanding Mesh Sizing Each strainer is designed with a mesh lined basket to filter and collect the unwanted debris. Mesh size should be chosen based on the job function, not the size of the system. Selecting a mesh with openings that are too small could result in more frequent clogged lines, while a mesh with significantly larger openings could permit more unwanted debris to flow through the pipeline and equipment. Ideally, then, you’ll want to choose a mesh where the perforation is slightly smaller than the smallest particle you’ll need to filter out. Mesh size is measured by the number of openings in one linear inch of screen. For instance, a 16-mesh screen would have 16 openings per inch, while a 100-mesh screen would have 100 openings. Higher numbers, therefore, are able to strain out smaller particles with a finer weave. The baskets are typically made of stainless steel for quality and durability. Factors for Selecting the Right Basket Strainer Each application could require a different basket strainer. Consider the unique functions of your pipeline before deciding on a strainer. Important factors include the pressure and temperature requirements of your line, the type of liquid flow (corrosive, abrasive, etc.), debris size, and the frequency of cleaning and maintenance. You may also consider a duplex style basket strainer (such as these), which holds two strainer baskets fed by diverting valves. This system allows one basket to be cleaned and serviced while the other maintains flow.
